Easy Like Sunday Morning Quilt

I had some extra fabric just laying around. So, one night I decided to (quite literally) just rip it up and start sewing a really basic/simple quilt. I honestly did not measure a single thing on this whole quilt.. I just kind of eyeballed it all. This was a nice change of pace since I had just finished a quilt top that was very precision oriented. Anyways, I'm not going to do a step by step DIY. Since there were no real measurements, I wouldn't have much instruction anyhow. But I thought I could post some photos of the finished product. Super simple. Super easy. Super makeshift and imperfect. But, super enjoyable.

I know it's weird, but I like it.

Oh, and here's some photos of that time that I accidentally stood on a tree stump that was apparently home to millions of biting ants:

Yep.. all those little things are ants. Mean ants.

Bad idea.

And this is me frantically trying to rid myself of the ants.
 Ouch.

Lavender Fields

"Death is promised to the bee
whose sting protects the colony.
Was it's life worth nothing more
than honey for the queen?"

I have always, and will always find the most immense beauty within nature. There's just something about it that (no matter my current state of mind) causes me to slow down and soak it all up. It astounds me that for all the ugliness and cruelty the world has to offer, there are still new and beautiful things around every corner.
